Here’s what you’ll need:You really don't need to plan for this one. These Easy and Fun Pretzel Rods for 4th of July takes less than an hour to make!

  1. Pretzel Rods
  2. Candy Melts – 1 bag each (red, white, and blue)
  3. Star Sprinkles – white
  4. A couple of sheets of Parchment paper or Cooling rack

Start with melting the white candy melt in the microwave first, according to the bag instructions. Dip the pretzel rod about 2/3 like you see in the image above. Let it cool on a cooling rack for about 20 minutes with wax paper underneath so that the melt doesn’t drip on your counter. This is for an easier clean up. You can also let it cool on parchment paper.

While the white candy melt is cooling, you can microwave your next batch – the blue candy melts. Set it aside after. Then, go ahead and melt your red candy melts and transfer it to a clear plastic bag, or Ziploc bag. Cut off a small corner of the bag for the red drizzle.

Once your white coat is cooled, dip the top part of it about 2 inches in the blue melt. Once done with several of them, lay them all back on the cooling rack, and decorate your white stars to the blue part. You can have a clean decoration, or be a little messy and sprinkle stars all over for a firecracker effect. After you finish with the blue melt and decorating, go ahead and take the red melt in your bag, and lightly drizzle it across the rest of the white melt.

Let the fourth of July pretzel rods cool for another 20 minutes or so, and you’ve got yourself some star spangled desserts! Aren’t they wonderful? Kids will love making these, so let your creativity flow and possibly create a new tradition too.

Have a great celebration ahead.
